| RYOKAN MANTEI was originally built as a holiday
house of Ichiriki, a famouse entertaiment house in Kyoto, in Taisho era, and bought out by Rinji Shino, a former master of the house, in 1953. It was refurbished by Mr. Masaya Hirata, a renowned carpenter who specialized the Sukiya style architect. The inn consists from 9 Japanese styled guest rooms, 2 Western styled guest rooms, 3 cottages and public spaces. The decoration by French rustic furniture and lamps harmonizes with the Japanese environment and creates a subtle, unique and its own ambience. The foods served are Kaiseki, a Japanese degustation using locally caught fish, meats and produces as main ingredients. Only French cuisines are served every Wednesday night. Plenty of varieties of wine are stocked. |
